Q & A

What is quantum computing, simply explained?

A normal computer — like your laptop or phone — thinks using bits.  Each bit is like a tiny switch that can be either a 1 (on) or 0 (off).  A quantum computer uses something called qubits instead of bits.  A qubit can be both ON and OFF at the same time.

Think of a maze.  A regular computer tries one path at a time.  A quantum computer can try many paths at once, then tell you the right one almost instantly.
